Why have a second opinion?

If you must travel a great distance to visit Dr. Gasbarro in the Baltimore area but are interested in having the opinion of an experienced shoulder surgeon. Dr. Gasbarro does some of the most complex cases in the Mid-Atlantic and sees many second opinions yearly. Please review Dr. Gasbarro’s website and videos to learn more about what advanced techniques he can offer.

Is this common?

Yes, many patients obtain two or even three opinions before undergoing surgery. In most cases, this second opinion can help solidify the previous surgeon’s opinion or discover other options.

How to get a second opinion?

If you would like a second opinion, please gather all medical records from prior office visits, including operative reports (if you have had surgery) and imaging results (x-rays, CT, and/or MRI) and call 410-801-3891 to schedule.

What does this second opinion provide?

This will offer patients further knowledge of their shoulder problem and potential treatment options. This may include an alternative treatment plan involving additional non-surgical modalities or another type of surgical technique. Dr. Gasbarro has advanced training in shoulder surgery and there may be new cutting-edge options available that can be offered, that you or your previous surgeon were not aware of.
